Chetyre (4)  is a 2004 Russian film by Ilya Khrzhanovsky’s story of Two men and a woman who happen to meet in a bar. We learn from their conversations both the intriguing and banal details of their lives. But is anyone really telling the truth? From the meat market to the president’s drinking habit or the Soviet cloning project, this allegory opposes different aspects of contemporary Russian society. 

 In term of cinema, this film could be considered as “Extreme cinema” a genre of film that use violence, torture and sex of extreme nature. This film is extreme in terms of context and atmosphere.  

” Chetyre(Четыре)” captures the atmosphere of the film through a perfume used as a medium to evoke certain emotions or atmospheres, Also I want to express my love for the film and independent cinema as a whole. Designing a fragrance that represents the different Mise-en-scene from the film is a unique and artistic endeavour. The various elements of the film, such as the intriguing and banal details of the characters’ lives, the allegorical opposition to different aspects of contemporary Russian society, and the overall atmosphere created by the story. Each note in ” Chetyre(Четыре)” represent a specific aspect or scene from the film, allowing the wearer to experience its essence in a different sensory form.

Cuir de Russie, which translates to “Russian leather,” is a note that evokes the scent of leather. It has historical significance and is associated with Russia and its traditional leather-making techniques.
